This retreat is about connecting with the roots of the tradition. If you are looking to learn about the profound practice of yoga and are just a beginner or are an old student looking to rekindle the love for the practice this retreat is perfect for you. Sophie will guide you through morning and evening classes as well as philosophy discussion about the meaning of yoga.
A little bit about your teacher; For Sophie, Yoga is awareness, both on the mat and in everyday life. She has personally experienced the integration of different practices such as pranayama, asana and meditation which can deeply heal the physical and mental body, which make daily life more simple and beautiful.
Sophie has a background in art education and creative development (theatre, visual arts, dance). She has been teaching yoga to special groups (children, teenage mothers, refugees, inmates) for 9 years, yoga asana (Ashtanga, Vinyasa, Hatha, Yin, Restorative), dance and meditation since 6 years and (individual) yoga therapy since 2 years.
She is known for her open mind and capacity to varying needs of different students. Realizing that every student starts with a different background and expectation, she combines different practices to make them accessible and beneficial to all.
In this retreat Sophie shares yoga asana, (heart) meditation & free flow dance. She believes they have they have power to help express yourself freely from the heart, move with awareness, build strength and relax into who you really are!
Take this time to become aware of your thoughts and how you can affect your thought patterns. Become more aware of your body and how its movements affect your mind. Gently work with your mind and body to overcome your limitations, to experience your true nature. Feel completely present and alive.
The idea of retreat is to step back from contemporary life and look into nature, the nature of the physical world, and the nature of mind. Retreat provides inner and outer space to unfold. It is an opportunity to look inward, and ultimately expose reality in its most raw form.

A three-day yoga retreat costs USD $295 per person all-inclusive on twin sharing basis (if you prefer your own room, there is an additional supplement charge of $25 per night, bringing the total to USD $335).
Home to 200 monks, Neydo Monastery is one of the most enchanting places in the Kathmandu Valley and close to many significant religious sites of Tibetan Buddhism. The lamas from the monastery decided to build accommodation for visitors on the monastery premises so that guest can learn about Buddhism and their monastery, and the income would help fund the education of the monks. The resort has spacious rooms, all with attached bathrooms, and is built in Tibetan style. The yoga hall has the view of the main monastery hall and the rooftop is also a great place for morning class with a beautiful view. You will enjoy the warm welcome and the shared accommodation in the vibrant Neydo Monastery.
During this retreat you will be served all vegetarian meals and plenty of tea and water throughout the day. Kunsang, the Tibetan chef, cooks a great fusion of Tibetan, Indian and Nepali vegetarian food. You will be energized with delicious meals prepared by this excellent chef.
Transportation from our studio in Thamel to retreat location and back. Departure from Thamel on Friday at 10:30am, return back on Sunday at 7 p.m.

A three-day yoga retreat costs USD $295 per person all-inclusive on twin sharing basis (if you prefer your own room, there is an additional supplement charge of $20 per night, bringing the total to USD $335).
To secure your place on the retreat we request you to pay a non-refundable deposit of 50 USD (if paying by PayPal) or 5000 rupees (if paying in cash) deposit, so that we can book your room and transport, and to confirm one of the limited places. The balance payment can be settled on the first day of the retreat. For guests already in Nepal at the time of booking, the deposit can simply be paid on one of our three yoga studios (Patan, Thamel or Pokhara).
