What to expect:
Every day we will awake with the sun, and perform classical ashtanga Surya Namaskara. Your yoga teacher, Kristin Brassett, will guide you in the sequence with proper alignment. More advanced students may practice Mysore style.

The focus:
The first yoga sutra is about calming the mind. The retreat will look at the ethical and moral teachings of yoga that support a calm mind. Different elements of yogic lifestyle will be introduced so that you walk away from the weekend retreat with some helpful tools to uphold a yogic lifestyle.

Teachers bio:
A long history of dance, sports and gymnastics and engineering lends to kristin’s technical approach to asanas and ashtanga yoga. You won’t be left guessing if your asanas are done safely and correctly. She loves to go upside down and will share this enthusiasm with you. She says nothing focuses her mind like a challenging inversion while at the same time bringing the joy of your innerchild out.

Kristin has spent over three months hiking in Nepal, where she experienced great peace and mindfulness. Hiking in nepal created a deep senes of appreciation for the simplicity in life.  For most people in this modern society (including Kristin) discover that a sitting meditation is very challenging. Duringthis retreat Kristin will teach active active meditation: hiking,  mantra meditation and ashtanga yoga.
