Nicky: The Sivananda system of yoga brings a holistic approach to material and spiritual life.
The Sivananda yoga class is traditional hatha yoga as taught by Swami Sivananda and his disciple Swami Vishnu-Devananda. It concentrates on knowledge from the Himalayas in India, handed down through generations and kept in its traditional form. It is something that can only be experienced.
The class includes relaxation, pranayama breathing techniques for cleansing and balancing our system, surya namaskar (sun salutations), warm up exercises and the 12 most important asanas with their counter postures. We close with a final relaxation. This class is for anyone who wants to try yoga for the first time and for experienced practitioners alike.
