Ngöndro Retreat at Neydo Monastery

June 1, 2013 @ 8:00 am - June 15, 2013 @ 5:00 pm

| Will follow soon

Two–week Retreat On The Preliminary Practices Of The Namchö-Cycle

‘The Buddha in the Palm of your Hand’

The Practice:

The Ngöndro – literally from the Tibetan “What goes before” – are the preliminary practices preparing the student for more specialised meditations. In themselves they contain the entire path of the Vajrayana and can therefore be taken as a lifelong practice. They are indispensible as a foundation for one’s meditation and studies.

The Teachers:

HH the 7th Karma Chagme Rinpoche – The first Karma Chagme Rinpoche wrote the first commentaries on the Namchö-Cycle and has therefore a strong connection to the teachings. His lineage is dedicated to the union of the Dzogchen and Mahamudra. He will give the oral transmission of the root text and the relevant empowerments.

Khenpo Pema Rangdrol, the resident main teacher at Neydo Monastery, will give the explanations to the root text as well as guide the meditations.

Translation will be provided in English with an option to get further explanations outside of class in German and French.

Who is eligible:

There are no special requirements to attend the retreat. It is open to beginners as well as an opportunity to deepen one’s meditation for more advanced practitioners.

Neydo Monastery is located close to Parphing about an hour’s drive from Kathmandu.  A beautiful hotel (www.neydohotel.com) with a restaurant is on the monastery’s ground where the participants will be cared for during the retreat. The beautiful landscape includes rice fields and forests as well as holy caves, which invite walks and inner reflection. One can also join the monastic ceremonies and there is a possibility of a daily yoga class.

26.05. – 09.06.2013 with an option of an additional week retreat until 16.06.2013 to deepen the practice
