Nives: Mysore has arrived in Kathmandu!
This session is for students with foundation training in Ashtanga and memorised knowledge of at least the start of the sequence. During a Mysore class, each student undertakes their self-practice at their own pace and up to the asana that they have learned: new poses are given with proficiency and progress. Benefiting from the extraordinary energy in the room and adjustments from our excellent guest teacher Nives, this is the traditional way of learning and practicing Ashtanga Yoga. The class is not led and all instruction is given on an individual basis, enabling you to enter a meditative flow in your practice with tailored support to progress, and to really access the benefits of the Ashtanga asana sequence.
You can arrive for your practice when it suits you within the running time of the session, so long as you have enough time to finish your full practice. Please enter via the main doors of the shala, not the reception area (which will be locked). Please pay Nives or show your membership card before you begin your practice at the session.
To understand more about the Mysore sessions, chat to your teacher or call Annie on 981 800 8796. Regular Ashtangis in our Kathmandu community are very welcome and encouraged to participate. Students from out of town with an established Ashtanga practice are also warmly welcome on a drop-in basis. People new to Mysore and who would like to learn more are invited to observe some or all of a session at no cost before joining the group.
