Classical Yoga is relevant to any person on and off the yoga mat. It is suitable for students of all levels, whether you are brand new to Yoga and prefer a simple pace and rhythm or would like to get to the fundamentals of Yoga and work towards a more flexible, strong and resilient body and spirit. Classes consist of practices to loosen tightened joints across the body synchronised with deep breathing practices. Practices are guided by instructions and light demonstrations. In Classical Yoga style, teachers link the practices to Yogic philosophy, explaining the beneficial effects of asanas to the student’s body and mind. These explanations help the student to understand the holistic science of asanas, and how it makes a positive impact in our lives and everyday actions.
Classical Yoga invigorates the body and creates a peaceful center to prepare people for their day/night ahead. Students are recommended to take these classes to feel confident, safe, and strong throughout most asanas including the classic sun salutations.
The main purpose of this approach is to make you aware of your body, breath and mind along with experiences and feelings so that your mind does not go out of your body during the practices. It eventually helps to release physical, mental and emotional tensions.
Classes conclude with Yoga Nidra (yogic relaxation) for a truly blissful guided experience of being in a physical and mental state of relaxation, feeling happy, and completely at peace.
