Ashtanga yoga classes focus on a specific set of postures linked by dynamic movement. The sequence is practiced again and again as the student refines each posture. The dynamic nature of the practice comes from a physically demanding transition between poses. This transitional movement is know as a “vinyasa”; a vinyasa in an upward and downward flow of movement. This continuous flow creates a strong and stimulating experience. The practice also encourages students to work with inner energy through a yogic technique called “banda”. Bandhas are methods to hold, balance, and maintain subtle internal energy. Your body and mind are challenged to move in new dynamic ways bringing a depth of focus creating physical, mental and emotional strength. This yoga class is accessible to all yoga practitioners regardless of their level or previous practice. Classes are modified to the student so that all can participate fully at their own level.
