Backbends are my favourite aspect of Asana Practice. The combined physical power and strength of the spinal column that roots downs and rises up into the center of the open chest is second to none! Backbends are a recipe for deep transformation and openness. Healthy technique and anatomical awareness is crucial to the long-term practice of backbends. In this workshop you will understand the anatomy of the spine and the heart (both organic anatomy and subtle energetic qualities) One of the most potent tools in yoga is the power to channel energy up the spinal column cleansing the nervous system and the more subtle emotions, energies, and experiences of mind. In this workshop Anna will guide you through simple back bends, moving into more deep advanced practices.
