A weekend retreat of Ashtanga yoga with Ellen in the hills of Nepal

February 23, 2013 @ 7:00 am - February 24, 2013 @ 5:30 pm

| 11500 rupees

Ellen: This weekend will give an introduction to classic Ashtanga Yoga system exploring its basic movement patterns and their physical and mental implications. Diving into the natural rhythms of body and mind we will re-discover the joy of moving and the simple satisfaction of stillness.

Through Yoga, dance and guided relaxation we prepare ourselves for integrated stillness and meditation.

If we look at the beauty and flow of Ashtanga yoga, we find that it draws on  movement patterns that are very natural to us, in fact they are a crucial part of our physical an mental development. However as we grow up we forget the joy of moving we tend to limit our range to a routine set of movement. This affects both our body and minds. Yoga is a journey of tracing the patterns that turns us into who we are. It is the science of “undoing the knots” and recovering our full potential.

Yoga classes will be suitable for all levels. If you are a beginner you will be introduced to the basic technicalities of Ashtanga Yoga such as the breath, bandhas (locks), drishti (focus-gaze), and the beginning asanas of the primary series. If you are an experienced practitioner you are welcome to practice “Mysore style” and you will be assisted by the teacher.
