A Yoga Nepal retreat with Shawn Parell
Shawn returns to Yoga Nepal for the second time, and we couldn’t be more honored to have her back with us. She was introduced to yoga at 12 years old, and it has been the guiding force of her life ever since. After countless namaskars, Shawn’s life is now a tapestry of sacred learning, weaving together nearly a thousand hours of teacher training in the systems of Prana Flow, Ashtanga, and Power Yoga with studies in mystical poetry and religion as well as a daily mindfulness practice.
Shawn’s teaching is rooted in the open system of Prana Flow: a synthesis-oriented approach to living yoga created by her teacher, Shiva Rea. Taught as intelligent and progressive patterns of Energetic Vinyasa, Shawn’s classes are powerful and deeply nurturing, full of humor and heart. Her practice creatively explores and integrates yoga’s ancient traditions along with its contemporary innovations. With each breath and each movement, she reveals the energetic wisdom of every pose and brings her students ever closer to the state of flow. By tapping into the subtle dimensions of practice, she shows us a new way of relating to ourselves and to the world.
Shawn is honored to serve as a regular assistant to Shiva Rea and mentor for the Samudra: Global School for Living Flow teacher training collective. She offers teacher training programs, retreats and workshops worldwide and also serves as Director of Programs for Anahata Grace, an international nonprofit committed to bringing yoga and other wellness services to communities in need.
